Between the 3rd and the 7th of October, the members of the “Polish Club FARMER OF THE YEAR” Association took part in an excursion to Germany (North Rhine – Westphalia).
The farmers had been invited to visit Germany by RIELA company which supports the Countrywide FARMER OF THE YEAR Competition. The owner, Mr Karl-Heinz Knoop, personally welcomed the Polish farmers. The programme included, among others, a tour of the company facilities in Riesenbeck as well as farmlands in Westphalia. The group took part in a panel discussion on bio-energy and energy-related exhibition in Pussenburen. They also visited the greenhouse of the Emsflower company, including the modern bioelectricity plant, the horticultural exhibition Naturagart and the stud farm of Ludger Beerbaum.
The participants were invited to the Department of Promotion, Trade and Investment of the General Consulate in Cologne by the consul Stanisław Hebda. The main topic of the meeting were the possibilities of institutional support in promoting agricultural and food products branch and the assortment offer on the German market. The excursion, apart from the thematic schedule, included tourist sightseeing including Ibbenburen in Cologne.
